Dr. Mark Sauer joined RMANJ in early July 2019 through a collaborative agreement with Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. Dr. Sauer is the Chair of the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology and Reproductive Sciences at Rutgers-RWJ Medical School and has also been a professor there since 2017. Dr. Sauer completed his undergraduate degree from Washington University in St. Louis and completed his Medical School, Internship and Residency degrees at the University of Illinois in Chicago specializing in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He decided to further specialize in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and completed his fellowship education at the University of California, Los Angeles. Dr. Sauer later went back to school and also completed a Master of Science degree in Bioethics from Columbia University.
Dr. Sauer will be seeing patients on Tuesdays in Basking Ridge. We look forward to strengthening our continuing collaboration with RWJ Barnabas Health.
Dr. Sauer’s major areas of research interest are in third party reproduction, oncofertility preservation and cancer survivors, as well as ethics in reproductive medicine. He has spoken both nationally and internationally, and has published well over 200 abstracts on these research topics.
