When to Use Donor Eggs or Embryos

Using donor eggs or embryos is often the best option if you:

  • have a severely diminished ovarian reserve or premature ovarian insufficiency
  • have undergone or are undergoing chemotherapy or radiation
  • have advanced beyond optimal reproductive age
  • have no ovaries due to a surgical procedure or a congenital condition
  • have had multiple failed IVF cycles
  • have a history of poor or abnormal fertilization or arrested embryo development
  • have a genetic condition but are not pursuing preimplantation genetic diagnosis
  • are a male or transgender individual looking for reproductive assistance

Personalized Treatment Plans

There are many important decisions to be made when it comes to selecting an egg or embryo donor. We recognize this path requires a considerable investment of time, energy and money, not only for screening and medical treatment, but also for egg bank or agency fees and other expenses for the involved parties. Our multidisciplinary team has the experience necessary to help hopeful parents navigate this path and to develop a customized treatment plan specific to a family’s needs.
