Masaya Jimbo
UROLOGIST
MD, PHD
Wayne, PA
"Male infertility and sexual dysfunction are more common than most people realize, and knowing that I can help so many men is a major source of motivation for me."
Masaya Jimbo, MD, Ph.D., graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Biochemistry and an MS in Chemistry. He attended Thomas Jefferson University/Sidney Kimmel Medical College and graduated with an MD and Ph.D. in Cell and Developmental Biology. He completed his Urology residency at the Mayo Clinic and his subspecialty fellowship in men's health, male infertility, and microsurgery at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.
He was drawn to Urology because it allows him to own his patients carefully—from the workup and medical management to necessary surgeries. 15% of couples are infertile, and in 50% of the cases, there is a male-related issue. His motivation is knowing he can help so many men overcome this hurdle.
Infertility can be devastating for a man's mental health and relationships, and Dr. Jimbo puts himself in the patient's shoes, is empathetic to their needs and concerns, and provides the best counseling and treatment for their unique situations.
Dr. Jimbo collaborates with RMA's reproductive endocrinologists and assists them regarding male infertility.
Outside work, he accompanies his daughters in various extracurricular activities, such as rock climbing, piano, swimming, and gymnastics. He also enjoys science fiction and fantasy novels and building plastic model kits.
Dr. Jimbo has received several prestigious awards, authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, conducted extensive research, and holds a patent.
