Reproductive Medicine Associates (RMA) of Philadelphia is proud to welcome Alexa Konrad, MPAS, PA-C, to the team. Alexa’s journey to becoming a physician assistant who specializes in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) actually began while working at RMA. She had accepted a clinical assistant position at the Philadelphia clinic in 2020 with very little background in the field, but it wasn’t long before she realized she not only wanted to pursue a career in REI but, more specifically, she wanted to do so at RMA.
Before this realization, Alexa had graduated from Drexel University with a Bachelor of Science degree. She first worked as a medical scribe in an emergency department and as a chiropractic assistant before joining RMA as a clinical assistant. After learning from RMA’s excellent providers, nurses, and embryologists and feeling called to help women make informed decisions about their reproductive health, Alexa headed to the University of Pittsburgh to earn a Master of Science degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
Alexa took what she learned at RMA with her to graduate school, and she always kept the goal of becoming a Physician Assistant at RMA in the forefront of her mind. Now that she has achieved that goal, she knows with absolute certainty she made the right choice in joining RMA. She values RMA’s dedication to delivering the highest quality of care while helping make dreams come true, and she considers it a privilege to be part of each patient’s journey to building their family and to root for them every step of the way.
When working with patients, Alexa understands that navigating infertility can often create feelings of vulnerability, uncertainty and isolation. She is also sensitive to the fact that even though most infertility challenges are beyond a woman’s control, women may still feel a sense of guilt or failure. That’s why Alexa provides a supportive environment where patients feel safe and empowered and have a sense of control throughout their journey.
When not in the office, Alexa enjoys spending time with her family at the Jersey Shore where they live. She also loves Philadelphia sports, especially the Phillies, and attends as many games as she can. Traveling to new places tops her immediate bucket list, and her patients may be surprised to learn she used to coach one of the highest levels of All Star Competitive Cheerleading. She led her teams to multiple National Championship titles and guided them to compete at the Cheerleading World Championships at the end of each season.
Alexa is board certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM).
