Daniel Miranian
REPRODUCTIVE ENDOCRINOLOGIST
MD
Philadelphia, PA
“Being part of a dynamic team that helps people build families is a constant source of excitement for me. The remarkable progress our field has achieved in a relatively short timeframe inspires confidence that the future holds even greater breakthroughs.”
Daniel Miranian, MD, is a fertility specialist at Reproductive Medicine Associates (RMA) in Philadelphia. He earned his medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology from the University of Pennsylvania, and a bachelor’s in biology from the University of Virginia.
Dr. Miranian’s interest in reproductive endocrinology and infertility (REI) was first sparked by his own parents’ journey to build their family. Then a serendipitous embryology lab tour during medical school—led by the same embryologist who helped his parents—reminded him how life-changing reproductive medicine can be. “Knowing my own family’s story, I feel honored to guide others toward their family-building goals,” Dr. Miranian says.
After medical school, Dr. Miranian completed his OB/GYN residency at the University of Michigan and his REI fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania while pursuing his master’s degree in clinical epidemiology. His research has included investigating the role deep sleep plays in reproductive outcomes and characterizing access to fertility preservation, studying long-term reproductive health in childhood cancer survivors, and exploring biomarkers for early pregnancy assessment.
Upon finishing his fellowship, Dr. Miranian was excited to join RMA. “I was eager to work with a group of hardworking, like-minded reproductive endocrinologists with the tools and resources to help as many patients realize their family-building goals as possible,” he says. “Having such an efficient team and stellar embryology lab allows me to fully focus on the patient before me.”
To Dr. Miranian, that means connecting with patients wherever they are on their family-building journey. He understands the emotional challenges that can arise during treatment, including the often unspoken feelings of pain and jealousy. He provides patients the support they need to protect their well-being and enhance clinical outcomes.
The energy and care Dr. Miranian brings to his patients is mirrored in his dedication to his passions. He loves spending time outdoors, running in the Wissahickon, practicing yoga, and staying active with his family. He and his wife are preparing for a dream trip to New Zealand. His patients may also be surprised to learn he is an amateur freediver.
“I strive to meet patients where they are, offering support tailored to their journey. Staying attuned to the emotional ups and downs of treatment allows me to stay better connected with them, which ultimately supports both their well-being and clinical outcomes.”
