COVID-19 Updates

RMA NorCal operating with modified schedule during COVID outbreak

  • RMA Northern California is closely monitoring the COVID crisis.
  • We are currently finishing treatment cycles for patients that are already undergoing stimulation.
  • No new stimulation cycles are currently being initiated, but this is being re-evaluated on a daily basis.
  • The team hopes to resume initiation of treatment cycles in April.
  • Insemination cycles and frozen embryo transfer cycles are being evaluated on a case-by-case basis and with careful counseling between doctor and patient.
  • If you have questions about your individual treatment plan and have not yet received confirmation from your doctor, please send a Spruce message to the team for clarification.
  • Please note that at the current time, the Palo Alto office is not open in an effort to reduce the staff working in our office to limit the spread of the virus.
  • The San Francisco office will remain open – but with modified hours. If you have questions, please direct them to your care team on Spruce.

Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is a type of artificial insemination that allows doctors to inject sperm directly into a patient’s uterine cavity during an optimal time of ovulation.

More info

Ovulation Induction (OI)

The purpose of Ovulation Induction (OI) is to produce multiple eggs to increase the likelihood of conception. For women who do not ovulate regularly, oral or injectable medications may be administered to support oocyte or egg development.

Patient Testimonials

Allison’s Fertility Story

For Allison Holzman, an ambitious young lawyer, life has always been about balance – she wanted a career and a family. When, in her mid-30s, she still hadn’t found the right partner, she decided she didn’t need to wait anymore – she would be a single mother by choice, and have children with the help of fertility doctors.

Chelsea’s Fertility Story

Chelsea Wright always wanted to be a mom, but at 29, she was diagnosed with Diminished Ovarian Reserve or Premature Ovarian Failure. In other words, Chelsea was experiencing early menopause, and she and her husband’s chances of conceiving naturally were slim.

Kelly’s Fertility Story

Kelly Valvano would do anything to become a mom, so when she had trouble starting her family nearly 20 years ago, she came to RMA founding partner Dr. Paul Bergh. After a fertility consultation, the two decided together her best chances of success would be IVF.
